Cardinals' Deone Bucannon questionable for Week 1 after ankle surgery
Arizona Cardinals linebacker Deone Bucannon underwent ankle surgery and is questionable for Week 1.
The procedure is meant to correct a "lingering" issue, head coach Bruce Arians said. Bucannon suffered a high-ankle towards the end of last season that caused him to miss the final three games. The Cardinals are hopeful that he'll be back in "early" September, making a stint on the reserve/PUP list unlikely. Otherwise, he'll be forced to sit out for the first six games of 2017.
The Cardinals finished last season ranked ninth in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
