Rams acquire Aqib Talib from Broncos for fifth-rounder
The Los Angeles Rams acquired defensive back Aqib Talib from the Denver Broncos.
This is essentially a salary dump for the Broncos, who didn't want to pay Talib the $11 million he's due next season. The veteran corner, now 32, will be reunited with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips in Los Angeles and will start opposite Marcus Peters in the Rams' secondary.
Talib recorded 31 tackles (23 solo) with 7 deflections, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 touchdown in 15 games for the Broncos last season.
