Packers to release Jordy Nelson
The Green Bay Packers will release wide receiver Jordy Nelson, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
This one comes as a bit of a surprise, though the 32-year-old did look like he had lost a step last season. Nelson's absence leaves Davante Adams as the Packers' number-one wideout, while Geronimo Allison stands to see a big increase in opportunity unless the Packers invest more at the position.
Nelson turned 88 targets into only 53 receptions, 482 yards and 6 touchdowns in the 2017-18 season, giving him his fewest yards per game since 2009.
