Giants' Saquon Barkley dealing with "mild" hamstring strain
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley suffered a "mild" hamstring strain in practice on Monday.
Head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters the team would be "smart with him" but doesn't believe the strain to be serious. The rookie back is expected to sit out the rest of the week and is looking doubtful to play in Friday's preseason game versus the Detroit Lions. Barring a setback, Barkley should be 100% by Week 1.
Our models project Barkley for 1,092.4 rushing yards, 488.1 receiving yards (64.6 catches), and 8.04 touchdowns this season. He is among the top-10 running backs in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings.
