Chargers believe there is a 'small opportunity' Hunter Henry (knee) plays in 2018
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry (knee) has a "small opportunity" to play in 2018, per general manager Tom Telesco.
The Chargers placed Henry on the PUP list instead of the injured reserve, following his surgery to repair a torn ACL, in what the team called a normal transaction. Doing so leaves a chance Henry could return late in the season if his recovery goes well. A late-December return would be seven months after the tight end suffered the injury, a speedy than usual rehab timeframe. Antonio Gates and Virgil Green will hold down the tight end job likely for all of the 2018 season.
Henry is not projected to play this season, by numberFire, after catching 12 touchdowns the last two seasons.
