Gulfstream Park Horse Racing Picks for Sunday 12/20/20

It's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:05 p.m. EST, we have 11 races at Gulfstream Park. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and check the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Centsless Drama, Race 5

FanDuel Racing Odds: 2/1

Race 5 is a Starter Allowance for fillies and mares going 1 mile. EPO trainer Todd Pletcher has one of the favorites, Topo Grigio (3/1), with leading jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding. She’s been off since April but has a solid work tab prepping for her return. But Centsless Drama (2/1) is the favorite and top pick, according to numberFire's data. She has finished second in four straight races at this track and level.

One of those two runners is the likely winner in a formful race with longshots Indicia (12/1) and Babybel (20/1) potential board hitters, per numberFire's algorithm.

Unbridled d’Oro and Zaajel, Race 7

FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 7/2

Race 7 is a Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-old fillies going 7 furlongs. Pletcher has a pair of first-time starters in here that may decide the winner. One is Zaajel (7/2), who has leading jockey Luis Saez aboard. Make Me Laugh (5/1) and Tayet (10/1) are both projected in-the-money finishers for numberFire -- with Tayet one to add to your trifecta wagers.

Pletcher’s other filly is Unbridled d’ Oro (3/1) with top jock Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding. She is well bred by Medaglia d’Oro-Unbridled Forever, by Unbridled's Song.

Skye Snow and Stefanie On Fleek, Race 8

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 4/1

Race 8 is Claiming race which drew 12 fillies and mares and is going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. The favorite and top pick of Daily Horse Picks is Sky Snow (5/2) with Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding for EPO trainer Brad Cox. This event is more distance and is on the turf, so take a good look at runners from EPO barns. Horse Racing Radar notes Sky Snow -- the daughter of Lemon Drop Kid -- was claimed by the Cox barn, and she broke her maiden at this distance and on this course.

Stefanie On Fleek (4/1) has a change to top jockey John Velazquez after she finished third for her third straight race three weeks ago. She rallied willingly from off the pace behind runner-up Little Big Good (5/1), who has Paco Lopez riding again. The upset call by numberFire is on Charlotte the Brit (20/1) to hit the board and potentially outrun Sky Snow to the wire. She finished in the money twice this summer at Gulfstream and posted a 95 speed figure.
