Marwin Gonzalez, 1B/2B/SS/OF, Houston Astros

Like many players on the Houston Astros, Marwin Gonzalez has gotten off to a bit of a slow start in 2018. But as with most of the reigning-champions, one would expect that to turn around soon.

Gonzalez is hitting .164/.277/.273 in 66 plate appearances with just one homer to his name. However, he's coming off a season in which he blasted 23 bombs, drove in 90 runs and slashed .303/.377/.530 in 515 plate appearances. His 2018 numbers are unsustainably low, thanks mainly to a walk rate that has increased from 9.5% last year to 13.6% this season.

The problem for Gonzalez has been hitting the ball hard, which he hasn't done enough, down from a hard-hit rate of 32.7% last year to 26.2% this year. However, he's still hitting line drives at the same rate as last year (19%), and his softly-hit rate of 19% is the same, too. He's simply hitting too many grounders in the early going (46.3%), which has negatively affected his BABIP (.200).

Buy now, because Gonzalez is going to figure it out and put up the numbers to prove it.
