3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 4/19/18

Your humble author regrettably shied away from recommending the Boston Red Sox in this space each of the past two days, and naturally all they've done is drop 19 runs on the Los Angeles Angels over that span. Sigh. Alas, we move on.

After those fireworks, one would expect Sox ownership to see a bump, but with the Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Mets among the teams with higher implied team totals, Boston may still avoid as much ownership as their recent performance might suggest. They also have a tough-to-decipher matchup against Nick Tropeano, who performed fairly well in his first start back from Tommy John surgery.

But with the way this offense is clicking right now, it makes sense to go right back to the well for round three. Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez deserve your attention, of course, but add Hanley Ramirez to the mix. Ramirez appears healthy and revitalized this year, seeing an early boost in hard-hit rate (39.6%) and drop in strikeout rate (18.5%) while batting high in the order. With Paul Goldschmidt and Jesus Aguilar likely getting the chalk treatment at first base, Ramirez is a good bet to go lower-owned compared to other Sox players.
