Matt Carpenter, 1B, St. Louis Cardinals

Price: $4,500

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Matt Carpenter continues to be one of the game's hottest hitters, and with just over a month left in the season, he may be the slight favorite to win the NL MVP award. Tonight, he has himself one mighty juicy matchup on which to fatten up his stats.

Carpenter's .397 wOBA is eighth-best in baseball, his 153 wRC+ is seventh-best, and he's hit 34 home runs, fourth-most in the Majors and tops in the National League. But that doesn't even begin to tell the story of how hot he's been. At the end of the day on May 14, Carpenter was hitting .140/.286/.272. Since then, over his last 88 games, he's slashing an incredible .314/.418/.680 with 31 of his 34 dingers hit over that stretch.

Enter Colorado Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela, who has appeared in 16 games this year -- 6 as a starter -- with a 4.47 ERA, 3.71 FIP and 4.64 SIERA. He's not a strikeout guy in the slightest, with a 16.8% strikeout rate and a swinging-strike percentage of just 6.7%. He's been decent his last three starts, with a 2.16 ERA in 16.2 innings, but the right-hander will likely have a lot of trouble with the left-handed hitting Carpenter, who is eating right-handers alive to the tune of a .402 wOBA.

Senzatela has the worst implied score (5.39) against of any pitcher on the slate, so make Carpenter one of your lineup's big-ticket items tonight.
