The 34-year-old Denard Span has posted improvements in both wOBA (.339) and ISO (.168) this year, with his 31.3% hard-hit rate on pace to be a career-high mark, while his 18.2% soft-hit rate is his lowest since 2012.

He brings that into a great matchup, taking on San Diego Padres righty Bryan Mitchell.

Mitchell has made 13 appearances (8 starts) this season, struggling to the tune of a heinous 6.41 SIERA. He hasn't been quite that bad over his whole career, but his 5.29 SIERA across 151 2/3 career innings is still horrible.
