4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/7/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Texas Rangers

This slate overrunneth with juicy stacking options. That means for tournaments, we want to ensure we're avoiding the chalk and pivoting to lower-owned options. It's possible the Texas Rangers wind up being one of those teams to avoid, but they're in that realm for a reason, and we should be turning to them in cash games.

The Rangers square off with Raul Alcantara, who presented pretty much everything you want to attack for stacking last year. In five big-league starts with the Oakland Athletics, Alcantara had a 4.85 SIERA fueled by his 13.6% strikeout rate and 45.7% hard-hit rate allowed. For context, David Ortiz led the league last year with a 45.9% hard-hit rate. That came with a 43.2% fly-ball rate against Alcantara and just a 6.1% swinging-strike rate, catapulting the Rangers to the top of our wish lists.

You're going to have value options in this lineup with both Carlos Gomez and Mike Napoli below $3,000 on FanDuel, but Shin-Soo Choo may be the ideal choice. Even while dealing with injuries last year, he managed to hold a 43.8% hard-hit rate and 6.3% soft-hit rate against right-handed pitchers. He'll likely hit second, and pairing him with guys like Gomez, Napoli, and Rougned Odor will give you all the flexibility you could possibly desire to pay up elsewhere.
