4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/25/17

After a slow start to the season, the Seattle Mariners' offense is starting to heat up. Should we be stacking them in today's matchup with Jordan Zimmermann?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not be discussing today's game at Coors Field here. You likely know that Coors is an offensive haven and don't need to be told to check out bats there. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Seattle Mariners

The Seattle Mariners may not be a cost-effective option if you're looking to plug Clayton Kershaw into your lineups at pitcher. If you're going elsewhere with your arms, though, there's plenty to like here in a matchup against Jordan Zimmermann.

We saw these struggles creep up on Zimmermann in 2016, but things have taken even another step in the wrong direction through his first three starts. Zimmermann's SIERA is up at 5.70 thanks to his 13.7% strikeout rate and 9.6% walk rate, both of which are a good chunk worse than his 2016 marks. On top of that, Zimmermann is allowing spoonfuls of hard contact and fly balls, keeping opponents on the ground just 20.4% of the time. The Mariners' offense is finally starting to click after a slow start, so they're good enough to take advantage here.

With Jean Segura set to potentially return from injury, the Mariners' lineup is about to get tossed in a blender. That could mean Taylor Motter gets squeezed onto the bench, but he has been crushing the ball and has the ability to play the outfield. This would be a great stick to have sitting in the lineup even when Segura is back.

If Motter winds up hitting lower than sixth, it's hard to justify his $3,200 salary on FanDuel. That's not a given, though, with the uncertainty around what the lineup will look like going forward. The other name to watch here is Dan Vogelbach, who is just $2,200 and could also bat at a respectable spot while holding a platoon advantage over Zimmermann.
