MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 5/31/17

Max Scherzer ($11,500 on FanDuel): Both Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom are in good parks for pitching tonight with decent matchups. Those matchups, though, make it pretty clear that we want to favor Scherzer in cash games with deGrom in tournaments. The appeal for Scherzer -- beyond his tremendous 2.86 SIERA, 33.3% strikeout rate, and 6.7% walk rate -- is that he'll face a San Francisco Giants team that ranks last in wRC+ against righties. That's huge from a floor perspective. His ceiling takes a dent, though, because the Giants have just a 19.7% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitchers, and Scherzer tends to sport a higher strikeout rate at home than on the road. This shrinks Scherzer's range of outcomes, meaning he's likely best suited for cash games as opposed to tournaments.
