FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 4/23/18

Carlos Carrasco may not have a high strikeout rate thus far, but that shouldn't scare you off of him against the Orioles. Who else should you look at on the FanDuel main slate?

We're starting off the week with a fun eight-game main slate, headlined by a potentially high-scoring affair in Coors Field between the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies. The Padres aren't typically an offense we want to stack, but they're particularly cheap for Coors, so this could be the rare day we want to load up. Other offenses in good spots include the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, and Seattle Mariners. On the pitching side, the top group is fairly straightforward, but you'll be able to take some different paths in tournaments.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Carlos Carrasco ($9,600 on FanDuel): Carlos Carrasco has performed fairly well through four starts with a 3.66 SIERA and 3.9% walk rate, but the punchouts have been lacking at an uncharacteristic 20.6% clip. However, we can probably just chalk this up to a small sample size. Despite the low strikeout rate, Carrasco still has a solid 11.3% swinging-strike rate, and his lengthy track record speaks for itself, including a 28.3% strikeout rate in 2017. He gets one of the best matchups on the board against the Baltimore Orioles, who have struggled this year. They show a meager 3.25 implied team total and are littered with high-strikeout bats like Chris Davis and Tim Beckham. Carrasco also offers a reasonable discount off our next entry, which could go a long way on a night with high-upside hitting.
