FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Sunday 5/27/18

Chris Sale gets a home date with the Atlanta Braves, who have baseball's best wOBA against lefties. Is he still the top arm on a main slate that also features Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy-looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Chris Sale ($11,600 on FanDuel): We've got a loaded pitching slate, and Sale, per usual, is right at the top of the pecking order. With all of the intriguing options available -- we're not even going to touch on guys like Trevor Bauer, J.A. Happ, Jameson Taillon and Miles Mikolas -- it may cap his ownership a bit in GPPs, and his matchup could lower his ownership, as well, as he will see an Atlanta Braves squad that ranks fourth in overall wOBA (.329) with an MLB-best .361 wOBA against lefties. Sale's numbers are comically-good as he boasts a 34.5% strikeout rate, 15.8% swinging-strike rate, 6.1% walk rate and 2.57 SIERA. Sale is a monster, and there's not a matchup out there that would take him off the radar. With that said, he's likely better suited for tournaments given the other options at our disposal, though we project him for 42.9 FanDuel points, the most on the main slate.
