4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 6/13/19
Coors Field is back on the main slate on Thursday, with the San Diego Padres in town to take on the Colorado Rockies. Up against a pitcher allowing a lot of hard contact and fly balls in Matt Strahm, the Rockies have a 6.16 implied total that's easily the highest on the slate. That should make them a popular stack -- and for good reason -- but let's check out some of our alternatives in tournaments.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees draw one of the weakest pitchers on the board in Ivan Nova, who has the second-worst SIERA (4.92) of tonight's 18 starters.
He's typically a guy we attack with lefty sticks, as dating back to 2017 he's posted a mere 4.90 xFIP and 12.3% strikeout rate in the split while allowing a whopping 1.7 home runs per nine innings. The moves up guys like Aaron Hicks ($3,700) and Didi Gregorius ($3,400) on our wish lists, while Brett Gardner ($3,100) can be considered as a potential value option.
But unlike past seasons, Nova has also performed poorly against righties this year, allowing a .363 xwOBA to them with a 16.7% strikeout rate. That means there's no hesitation in loading up on the Yankees' top right-handed hitters, too, including the power bats of Gary Sanchez ($4,300) and Luke Voit (4,200), who both remain locked into the top 20 in barrel rate.
The Yankees have a 5.34 implied total, the slate's second-highest mark.
