4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/27/19
We get a full 15 games on tonight's slate, but with so many elite pitchers taking the mound tonight, hitting arguably isn't as deep as we might normally see in a slate this large.
That being said, we should have a stacking bonanza at Coors Field, where the Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies are combining for a massive 13.5 over/under. Between the sheer number of games and plethora of high-priced hurlers, that could put a dent in Coors ownership, but both sides still figure to be two of the most popular stacks. You're probably going to want some level of exposure to those teams, but let's dig into some other potential stacks if you want to pivot elsewhere.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Washington Nationals
The easiest spot to look outside of Coors will be the Washington Nationals, who get a familiar stacking target in the Baltimore Orioles.
The Orioles have Aaron Brooks going tonight, who's been rocked for a 6.21 ERA over 82.2 innings while allowing 2.18 home runs per nine innings. Those poor results are reflected by a 4.89 SIERA and sixth-percentile xSLG, and it's of little surprise that we see the Nats getting a Coors-esque 6.00 implied total.
As noted in today's daily helper, lefties Juan Soto ($4,200) and Matt Adams ($2,800) are great plays with the platoon advantage, while righties Trea Turner ($4,200) and Anthony Rendon ($4,500) are always welcome sights to any Nationals stack.
Asdrubal Cabrera ($2,900) makes for an affordable addition, too, with a .192 ISO versus right-handed pitching this year.
Adam Eaton ($3,800) has been on a really nice run lately, though this is a hefty price tag to pay for a guy with such modest power. He's not the best value but is still worth considering in tournaments as a potentially lower owned number-two hitter.
