Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 9

There are only two weeks left in traditional rotisserie fantasy baseball leagues. Can you believe it? It feels like it just started, and we are nearly done. Wow.

Each week we will take a look at players who are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues and can help out your season-long squads. Remember, if you aren’t scouring the waiver wire, you are falling behind your league-mates.

Tyler Mahle - Cincinnati Reds (SP)

Roster percentage: 35%

As we go down the stretch for the fantasy baseball season, it's less about volume and more about making sure we keep those ratios intact.

And today, we will get a bird's eye view of Tyler Mahle taking on the St. Louis Cardinals. In his last start, Mahle punched out 10 hitters and generated an eye-popping 22 swings and misses from the Cubs. That comes off the heels of striking out 11 Cubs not too long ago.

For the year, Mahle has been a solid option in the Reds' rotation with a 1.00 WHIP and 45 strikeouts over 37 innings. If you need some help on the mound, Mahle is worthy of an add.

Greg Holland - Kansas City Royals (RP)

Roster percentage: 47%

If you are chasing saves down the stretch, Greg Holland of the Kansas City Royals seems to have a firm grasp on the job now that Trevor Rosenthal has been traded to the San Diego Padres.

While saves can be a frustrating category to chase down, locking in a hurler like Holland is a must. He owns saves in each of his last three outings, and he has an opportunity to add to those totals this week with winnable contests against the Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Head to your waiver and see if the veteran arm is available.

Ty France - Seattle Mariners (2B/3B)

Roster percentage: 8%

If you are struggling for some pop down the stretch, one bat to keep in mind is Ty France, who seems locked into a solid lineup spot with the Seattle Mariners.

France has popped dingers in back-to-back games. In only 84 at-bats this year, he's got four long balls. France has been occupying the DH slot for Seattle, and he's been hitting second in the order.

He also has both second-base and third-base eligibility, giving him some nice lineup flexibility. His power should play well throughout the rest of the season now that he's getting regular playing time.

Tommy La Stella - Oakland Athletics (1B/2B/3B)

Roster percentage: 32%

it's a bit absurd to me that Tommy La Stella is only 32% rostered in Yahoo leagues, but here we are. It's 2020, y'all.

With teammate Matt Chapman out for the season with a hip issue, La Stella has hit either first or second in each of the last six games. And while some folks may have thought his 16 homers and .346 OBP in 2019 were just a blip, La Stella has continued that excellence this year with 24 runs scored and a .363 OBP, including four dingers.

Consider adding La Stella, who should be in the lineup nearly every day for Oakland.
