4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/25/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates, we'll be focusing exclusively on the late slate at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Tampa Bay Rays

You could pretty much target any team going against Miami Marlins starter Justin Nicolino. But when that team can launch taters at will versus lefties like the Tampa Bay Rays?

I've lost all feeling in my extremities. Is this normal? This is probably a sign we should dabble in the Rays tonight.

The decision to stack against Nicolino is so easy because his strikeout and walk numbers are completely cattywampus. In five starts this year, his strikeout rate is 4.9% (the league average for starters is 20.3%), and his walk rate is a bit above average, too, at 8.9%. You can't be a successful starter long-term with a strikeout rate that low, and his average ground-ball rate doesn't help matters. The Rays' filthy 127 wRC+ against lefties is simply icing on the cake.

The No. 2 spot in the Rays' lineup is the most pivotal position on the entire slate tonight. Mikie Mahtook hit there two nights ago against a lefty, and he has a 37.7% career hard-hit rate against lefties in 81 plate appearances. Then there's Taylor Motter, who had hit there in the past and crushed lefties in the minors. I'd happily use either of these guys if they were hitting seventh in a matchup like this. If they're hitting second, though, you'll find me blacked out and pantsless with a big, dumb smile on my face.
