4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/31/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we won't be including today's game at Coors Field here. Coors Field is amazing for DFS, but you likely don't need me to tell you that. Load up there, especially on the Rockies today. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals are one of those teams we just want to be let out of its cage. Their home park is super meh, so even though they're second in the league in wRC+ against righties, we don't get to see them flash that beastliness often.

Miller Park changes things.

That 466-foot tater looks even more intriguing when we consider that they're facing Wily Peralta today. Peralta's strikeout rate sits at 14.3% with a 9.0% walk rate, jacking his SIERA up to a career-high 4.85. The one downside of stacking against Peralta used to be his ground-ball rate, but even that has gone down to 48.9%, and the opponent hard-hit rate is up to 35.0%. It all lines up for stacking savoriness.

The only hard thing about stacking the Cardinals is having to choose between Matt Adams and Brandon Moss if they're both in the lineup, which is a legit possibility with Stephen Piscotty battling a bout of food poisoning. Moss has a higher fly-ball rate and hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching, but Adams is less likely to go down on strikes. With Peralta's low strikeout rate, Moss appears to be the superior choice for tournaments while Adams -- thanks to his higher spot in the batting order -- would hold a slight edge in cash.
