4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 6/15/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Ugh, fine, whatever. Let's do this. Again.

It's not as if the Oakland Athletics are some irresistable force that you want to stack every night in DFS. They just happen to have had a couple of sweet matchups in a row, and tonight's against Derek Holland is potentially the juiciest of them all. Holland's SIERA for the season sits at 5.23 with a 13.1% strikeout rate, which would be stackable as is, but things fall even further when he's on the road. His strikeout rate outside of Arlington is a ghastly 11.0%, and righties have a 34.3% hard-hit rate against him. Can you blame us for going straight back to the A's?

Because Oakland has attracted a bunch of eyes the past few nights, their pricing is up pretty much across the board. For this reason, we may have to dip a bit lower in the order to fit a full stack and differentiate from the crowd. That's not really a big issue because they've got guys like Marcus Semien, Josh Phegley, and Jake Smolinski -- who have all had relative success in their careers against lefties -- buried near the bottom third. If any of them wiggles up into the six hole, they could be an easy way to save some salary and not restrict upside in a tourney.
