Starling Marte leading off Mets lineup versus Nationals
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is starting in right field and batting leadoff versus left-hander Patrick Corbin and the Washington Nationals.
Brandon Nimmo (neck) is not in the Mets' Opening Day lineup, so Marte is handling leadoff duties and Mark Canha is manning center field. The Mets' full lineup against Corbin and company: Marte RF, J.D. Davis DH, Francisco Lindor SS, Pete Alonso 1B, Eduardo Escobar 3B, Robinson Cano 2B, Canha CF, Jeff McNeil LF, James McCann C. Tylor Megill is taking the mound for the Mets to start the season. Jacob deGrom (shoulder) is on the 10-day injured list and Max Scherzer (hamstring) is penciled in for Friday.
Marte has a $3,600 salary on Thursday and numberFire's models project him for 13.8 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mets have the third-highest implied total in the majors on Opening Day.
