Giancarlo Stanton sitting Tuesday for Yankees in Game 1
New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup versus right-hander Jon Gray and the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader.
The Yankees will give Stanton a breather for the matinee as they are already locked into the No. 2 seed in the American League. Aaron Judge will shift into the designated hitter role while Marwin Gonzalez moves over to right field. Aaron Hicks will start in left and Harrison Bader will hold things down in the middle of the outfield. Bader will also be the Yankees' cleanup man.
Bader has a $6,000 salary on Tuesday's single-game slate and numberFire’s models project him for 10.3 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, Gray's strikeout rate this season (26.3%) is tied for fourth-highest among Tuesday's projected starters.
