Josh Jung (thumb) placed on Rangers' IL
Texas Rangers infielder Josh Jung has been placed on the 10-day injured list, the team announced Monday night.
Jung suffered a left thumb fracture. It's a brutal blow for the rookie, who was having a terrific start to his MLB career. The estimated timeline for recovery is in the 6-week range. For now, the Rangers have brought up Jonathan Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock.
In 109 plate appearances this season, Jung has a .274 batting average with an .813 OPS, 22 home runs, 70 runs, 67 RBI and 1 stolen base.
