San Diego's Yu Darvish (elbow) shut down for remainder of season
San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish (elbow) has been ruled out for the rest of this season.
What It Means:
After a bone spur was found in Darvish's right elbow, the veteran will be shut down. Expect Matt Waldron to see more time in San Diego's rotation down the stretch.
In 24.1 innings this season, Waldron has accounted for a 6.10 expected Fielding Independent Pitching rating and a 14.4% K-rate.
