Reds place Harrison Bader (groin) on IL

The Cincinnati Reds placed outfielder Harrison Bader on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right groin strain.

What It Means:

Bader suffered the injury in Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets. The Reds also activated outfielder Stuart Fairchild from the COVID-19 injured list Monday, but TJ Friedl will replace Bader in center field and hit second in Monday's series opener against right-hander Joe Ryan and the Minnesota Twins.

numberFire’s models project Friedl ($3,300) for 12.0 FanDuel points on Monday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Reds' implied total is 4.36 and the game total is 9.5. Ryan has a 4.20 ERA and 3.44 xERA (top 78th percentile of league) this season, with a 41.5% hard-hit rate (bottom 33rd), 29.2% strikeout rate (top 84th), and 5.0% walk rate (top 92nd).
