Blue Jays' Chris Colabello (suspension) ready for rehab games

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman/outfielder Chris Colabello (suspension) is set to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dunedin on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Colabello will be eligible to return on July 23 from his 80-game suspension for testing positive for dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a performance-enhancing drug. He was suspended on April 22. Colabello began the season going 2-for-29 (.069), after slashing .321/.367/.520 in 101 games (360 plate appearances) for Toronto in 2015.

Colabello's previous career high for games played in a season in the majors were 59, coming in 2014 with the Minnesota Twins. His .381 wOBA last season -- compared with current first baseman's Justin Smoak's .318 wOBA -- would justify Toronto inserting him back into the lineup.
