Jeff McNeil cleaning up Friday afternoon for Mets
New York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil is starting on second base and batting leadoff in Friday's series opener against right-hander Freddy Peralta and the Milwaukee Brewers.
McNeil only lined up in the cleanup spot six times over the first six seasons of his MLB career, but the Mets are mixing things up for the first game of 2024. He should have an abundance of RBI opportunities while batting behind Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. DJ Stewart will work as the designated hitter and bat sixth on Friday afternoon. J.D. Martinez, Trayce Thompson, and Ben Gamel all failed to make the season-opening roster.
numberFire's models project McNeil for 7.9 FanDuel points on Friday afternoon.
