Dodgers' Jason Heyward sitting versus lefty Sunday
The Los Angeles Dodgers did not include Jason Heyward in their lineup for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Heyward will move to the bench as the Dodgers prepare to take on Cardinals left-hander Steven Matz. Chris Taylor will cover for him in the outfield and is listed fifth in the batting order.
Heyward is projected to make 382 more plate appearances this season, with 13 homers, 47 runs, 43 RBI, 4 stolen bases, and a .249 average. The veteran had a strong bounce back year with the Dodgers in 2023 but has been slow to start the 2024 campaign.
