Mark Teixeira walks off with grand slam in Yankees' win
New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira blasted a walkoff grand slam to lift the Yankees to a 5-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.
Talk about a theatrical way to end a game. The Yankees were down 3-1 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth when Mark Teixeira stepped to the plate with the bags loaded and took a Joe Kelly offering deep to win the game for New York.
Teixeira has really struggled from the dish this season, and he is slashing .205/.295/.365 with a .290 wOBA that is the second lowest mark he has posted in 14 major league seasons.
