Pedro Ciriaco gets start at third base for Braves against Cubs Friday
Atlanta Braves infielder Pedro Ciriaco will start at third base and bat sixth for the Braves Friday as they face the Chicago Cubs.
Ciriaco is only getting his second start of the month, despite the trades of Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson. The team is also expected to call up third baseman Hector Olivera potentially as early as next week.
Ciriaco has failed to impress this season, posting a .262/.262/.379 slash over 109 plate appearances. He has identical hard- and soft-hit rates at 23.3 percent and is yet to draw a single walk. With a solid Kyle Hendricks on the mound, Ciriaco doesn't figure to factor in daily fantasy.
