Yankees' Gary Sanchez may have aggravated groin injury
New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez might have aggravated his groin injury during Monday's loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, hears Jon Heyman of FanCred Sports.
Sanchez has received criticism for lazy play in the field but Heyman suggests that it's the result of playing through injury. He was told the backstop didn't want to reveal the issue in an effort to avoid a return to the disabled list. Sanchez will receive treatment and then likely be re-evaluated. Austin Romine will likely draw the start at catcher for the Yankees on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sanchez is averaging 10.2 FanDuel points in 66 games for the Yankees this season, while slashing a poor .188/.283/.416 with 14 home runs, 42 RBI, and 37 runs scored across 279 plate appearances.
