Giants' Johnny Cueto (elbow) likely headed back to DL
San Francisco Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) is expected to be placed on the 10-day DL on Monday, according to general manager Bobby Evans.
Cueto felt pain in his elbow during his start on Saturday and was examined by doctors on Sunday. No word on the extent of the injury, but the pitcher did miss two months earlier this season with a sprain of the same elbow.
Cueto has posted a 4.52 xFIP while striking out 6.5 batters per 9 innings over 53 innings pitched this season.
