Athletics' Sean Manaea (shoulder) likely out until 2020
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea (shoulder) will likely be sidelined through the 2019 season, manager Bob Melvin said Tuesday.
There will be more clarity after Manaea undergoes surgery on his throwing arm next week but this is obviously devastating news for the 26-year-old left-hander. He last threw on August 24.
Manaea averaged 27.6 FanDuel points and went 12-9 in 27 starts this season, while recording a 3.59 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 108 strikeouts and 32 walks across 160 2/3 innings.
