Fantasy Basketball: 10 Players to Target on Tanking Teams
Jordan Clarkson, Los Angeles Lakers
Another target, another Laker. Jordan Clarkson joins Russell in Walton's youthful and talented backcourt that we're likely to see much more of as the season starts winding down.
For the time being, like his partner Russell, Clarkson isn't playing close to 30 minutes a game. Also like his teammate, he's fallen victim to veteran players like Lou Williams and Nick Young, who both receive at least 24 minutes per game from the bench.
In his 27.3 minutes, Clarkson has earned 11th-round fantasy value, which is four rounds down from his pre-season projection. Wisely, Clarkson is owned in 81% of Yahoo leagues, but he should be closer to 90% by season's end. He is already a valuable asset for points and three-pointers, but more volume could mean more production in other categories.
Taken over 36 minutes, Clarkson's numbers still don't say that much in terms of overall fantasy value. But, if you're someone who forfeits blocks and rebounds -- in other words, you need guard help -- Clarkson is a 10th-round value with upside for even more.
