2017 NBA Mock Draft: Who Each Lottery Team Should Pick

2. Los Angeles Lakers: Josh Jackson, SF

Team needs: Wing defense, play-making, ball security

This season, Brandon Ingram and Luol Deng were the primary small forwards for head coach Luke Walton. While both weren't particularly good on the offensive end, they were even worse on D. The two posted a combined defensive box-plus minus of -0.9 for the year, meaning they took away almost a whole defensive point over a period of 100 possessions. Enter Kansas' Josh Jackson.

Instead of going with Lonzo Ball -- the flashy, and some would say obvious pick -- the Lakers would be smart to add Jackson and his defensive box plus/minus of 5.7 from his only collegiate season. Not only does Jackson bring a lengthy (6'8" with a 6'9 3/4" wingspan) athleticism to the defensive end, but his 29.7 points and 5.4 assists per 100 are pretty darn promising.
