5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/29/18
Marcin Gortat, C, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $4,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.45
Given the landscape of the center position on Thursday, it's unlikely that you have to pay down this far. But if you're looking to differentiate yourself from guys like Andre Drummond, Myles Turner and Willie Cauley-Stein, Marcin Gortat's your man.
As the Wizards have continued to shy away from traditional lineups, Gortat's minutes have suffered. On the year, he's averaging just 25.3 minutes, with that dipping to 22.0 over the last five games. But, tonight, there's reason for optimism. The big man has played at least 23.6 minutes in three of the last five, maxing out at 27.4 in a matchup against the Denver Nuggets. And there seems to be a noticeable trend with Washington deploying him more against traditional frontcourts like those of Denver, San Antonio and Indiana.
In the three games Gortat has gotten considerably more run, he's posted averages of 13.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. When you factor in his blocks and steals, that's 29.2 FanDuel points a contest. The Pistons' frontcourt duo certainly follows the mold of a traditional lineup, and Gortat's already averaging over 28 minutes per game when facing them this season. Don't be scared off by his struggles in this spot.
