Plumlee versus Plumlee might not roll of the tongue, but it's what's on the card tonight when the Nuggets and Hawks do battle against each other at the Pepsi Center.
Nuggets backup center Mason Plumlee and Hawks backup center Miles Plumlee will need to shed their brotherly love in favor of competition tonight. Neither usually has a prominent role on their respective teams, but their minutes could each be up tonight.
Mason could get extra run for a couple of reasons. While teammate Nikola Jokic is expected to play, he got X-rays after the Nuggets' game on Tuesday, so the team could choose to be cautious with his workload tonight. On top of that, the Nuggets, as we said a minute ago, are 13.0-point favorites, so Mason could get extended minutes in the fourth quarter. In games in which he's gotten at least 20 minutes of run, he's scored a minimum of 23 DraftKings points.
Brother Miles could get a spot start. Dewayne Dedmon is out tonight, and Alex Len is questionable, which could force the Hawks to start Plumlee.
Mason and Miles are averaging 1.00 and 1.18 DraftKings points per minute, respectively, this season. It's always been about playing time with them, and tonight gives them a solid opportunity to see extra run.
