3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 12/14/18

The Toronto Raptors will be without Jonas Valanciunas for an extended period of time following the center dislocating his thumb in his last game. As such, someone will need to step up, and one of the most likely candidates is Greg Monroe.

Monroe hasn't seen a ton of playing time with Toronto. He's played just 13 games, averaging a paltry 7.3 minutes when he sees the court. Monroe being Monroe, he's had no trouble being productive in those minutes, averaging 3.7 points and 3.2 boards, which is equivalent to 18.2 points and 15.5 boards on a per-36 basis.

Monroe won't get anywhere close to 36 minutes--you should be happy with 20--but given his sub-$4,000 price this evening, you don't need him to for him to hit value. In his last three games against the Portland Trail Blazers (tonight's opponent) in which he received at least 20 minutes, he scored 27.0, ,26.75, and 32.0 DraftKings points, respectively. He only needs 18.0 points tonight to hit a value of 5.0 DraftKings points per $1,000. While we don't yet know his usage, he's a solid bet for tournaments tonight.
