Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Wednesday 12/7/16
Even with 10 games on the slate, the injury report is somewhat smaller than you'd think on Wednesday. That doesn't mean we aren't in for some surprises before roster lock, so make sure you know which players are in and which ones are out before building your DFS lineups.
Notable Injuries
Isaiah Thomas, Boston Celtics
Isaiah Thomas is the most significant player injured so far on tonight's slate. He'll be out for the Boston Celtics and Marcus Smart, who is an excellent value option, will start in his place, while Al Horford and Jae Crowder should get a bump in usage, as well.
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
Nikola Jokic is listed as questionable for the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. If he is out again, Jusuf Nurkic and Kenneth Faried get a nice bump and are both intriguing DFS options on this big slate.
Kent Bazemore, Atlanta Hawks
Kent Bazemore has been ruled out not only for Wednesday, but also for Friday's game. Tim Hardaway Jr. will get the nod in the starting lineup as the Atlanta Hawks try and correct course after a rough week. Hardaway is an excellent punt, even against the slower paced Miami Heat.
Derrick Rose, New York Knicks
Derrick Rose is one of the biggest question marks, as his status might come down to a game-time decision because of back spasms. If Rose misses, Brandon Jennings is a great tournament and cash game play.
J.R. Smith, Cleveland Cavaliers
J.R. Smith is listed as out for Wednesday's game after playing only 10 minutes the last time the Cleveland Cavaliers took the floor. Iman Shumpert, DeAndre Liggins, and Mike Dunleavy should soak up most of Smith's minutes, but it's hard to trust any of those guys in DFS.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are getting healthier with Larry Nance Jr. available. D'Angelo Russell is getting closer to a return, but he will be out again, leaving the ball-handling duties to Marcelo Huertas, Louis Williams and Jordan Clarkson. Tarik Black is also out.
Miami Heat
It's the same story for the Miami Heat on the wing tonight. Five Heat wing players are out, which means we could see a lot more of Rodney McGruder, Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington. Josh McRoberts also played 29 minutes on Tuesday and could be called upon again.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks probably need to start thinking about tanking. They have the Western Conference's worst record and their injury situation is just getting worse.
On top of being without Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas will be without Seth Curry again, along with Andrew Bogut for the next several weeks. Bogut's absence could mean big things for DeMarcus Cousins' value, though.
