Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Tuesday 1/3/17

Several teams have starters who are game-time decisions. What should you know about this eight-game slate?

Tuesday's NBA card is stacked with injuries, and with big question marks in the later games, it's going to be tough to know all of the information tonight before lineups lock.

Here is a rundown of the most crucial injuries to watch out for tonight and how they might open up value in DFS.

Notable Injuries

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat might have a sliver of good news tonight as Goran Dragic has a chance to play. However, Hassan Whiteside and Justise Winslow did not travel with the team and will be out. Dion Waiters is close but will still not play tonight, so while Dragic will be very busy, Josh Richardson should still still hold plenty of value.

There is also James Johnson, who would be in for another heavy dose of minutes, but he is sick and might not play tonight either. Double check before rosters lock, but if Johnson is out, Derrick Williams and Luke Babbitt both might be in play. The Heat may be forced to go super small with three-guard lineups. Pretty much anyone from Miami who is on the court is in play tonight.

Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings might be a little thinner on the wing tonight as Rudy Gay, Arron Afflalo, and Ty Lawson are all listed as questionable. If Lawson is out, Darren Collison becomes an extremely intriguing option. If Gay misses, Anthony Tolliver and Garrett Temple should continue to hold things down on the wing.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have several members of their bench mob questionable tonight, which could either shorten their rotation or bring some new guys into play. Marcus Smart and Tyler Zeller were both hospitalized for different illnesses and have since been released but are obviously questionable. Along with James Young, who has already been ruled out, the Celtics may have a thin bench.

The Boston starters might get more run, while Kelly Olynyk, Jonas Jerebko, and Gerald Green could get some more minutes if Zeller and Smart are out.

Denver Nuggets

Both Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur missed last night's game for the Denver Nuggets, and both are up in the air presumably for tonight. Jusuf Nurkic played great in 21 minutes, and Wilson Chandler ended up being a fine value too. Both are strong options if Faried and Arthur are out again.

Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies

Marc Gasol sprained his ankle in the Memphis Grizzlies' last game, but he says he will play tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

George Hill, Utah Jazz

George Hill is out again on Tuesday, so look to Shelvin Mack as a source of value at point guard. Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert get a bump too.

Jeff Teague, Indiana Pacers

Jeff Teague sprained his ankle and played through it two nights ago, but he is listed as questionable tonight as the Indiana Pacers take on the Detroit Pistons. If Teague is out, Monta Ellis might return to the starting lineup, while Aaron Brooks should get a boost in minutes. Paul George might also see a nice bump in usage.

Sergio Rodriguez, Philadelphia 76ers

Sergio Rodriguez and Richaun Holmes will miss tonight, so T.J. McConnell should get another chance at starting. Ersan Ilyasova played 37 great minutes for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Denver Nuggets. Both are strong value options tonight.

Deron Williams, Dallas Mavericks

Deron Williams is dealing with an illness, but he went through shootaround this morning and seems on track to play. Double check his status later in the evening to make sure.

Lesser Injuries

Aron Baynes, Detroit Pistons

Aron Baynes is questionable for tonight's game, but if he misses, it would likely just give a few more minutes to Andre Drummond and Jon Leuer. We might even get a Boban Marjanovic sighting.

Patrick Patterson, Toronto Raptors

Patrick Patterson did not go through shootaround and is questionable for tonight. Pascal Siakam should gain some minutes, but there isn't much appeal for Siakam in DFS.
