NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 5/6/19
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,800): While betting odds are often a big factor on these short playoff slates, over on NBA odds both games have the same over/under (220.0) and the same point spread (1.5). Both project to be close and high-scoring, so there's no real differentiation there. Close games tend to mean big things for Giannis, who led the NBA in FanDuel points per minute with 1.72 in the regular season. He's often played limited minutes with these playoffs full of blowouts for the Bucks, but in his last game, he played 39.1 minutes as the Bucks scored a 7-point win in their first playoff game with a margin of victory below 15 points. With a close spread, we can expect him to push toward 40 minutes tonight, which makes it really tough to fade him and his absurd fantasy efficiency.
