FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Saturday 10/26/19

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a bunch of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each position.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

A nine-game slate that features New Orleans at Houston as the epitome should provide us with plenty of plays to rely on, and with every game's over/under set at at least 212.5, no game should be ruled out entirely.

Point Guard

Point guard is shaping up to have a lot of strong plays at all types of price points, so it's a flexible spot on this nine-game slate. At the top we have Russell Westbrook ($10,200), who plays in that Houston/New Orleans game. He debuted with 59.7 FanDuel points and posted a 28.1% usage rate over 32 minutes.

Then we have Ben Simmons ($9,600), Trae Young ($9,000), and Kemba Walker ($8,200). My simulations project Walker for the best price-adjusted value out of the three by a pretty solid margin in a game against the New York Knicks. Walker has had 18 and 22 field goal attempts in his first two games with the Boston Celtics.

Mike Conley ($7,700) and Kyle Lowry ($7,000) grade out as top-10 price-adjusted plays at the position in my projections, but that makes them less must plays and more safer, high-floor options.

Emmanuel Mudiay ($4,000), Bryn Forbes ($4,000), and Tomas Satoransky ($4,800) offer salary relief and would be the first place I look when spending down. Forbes played 32 minutes in the opener, and while Mudiay's minutes are risky, he has 21 field goal attempts through two games. For that reason, he carries some tournament appeal.
