3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Friday 12/13/19
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.
While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money on betting everyday player props.
For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.
Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.
James Harden, Over 37.5 Points
There's not many ways to follow up what James Harden just did to the Cavs, but he will try his luck in Orlando versus another weak defensive guard duo. Harden is on another 50-watch tonight, and it would be his fifth game over 50 points and his 10th over 40 or more this season if he does so. He's averaging 37.8 points over his past five games and has scored over 50 points in two of his last three road games. He's averaging 36.5 at home compared to 40.8 away from Houston, making this the top prop of the night.
Harden has attempted at least 10 triples in 17 of his last 20 games and 20 out of 24 games played this season. He's coming off a 10-for-18 three-pointer night against Cleveland and averages 14.1 attempts on the road. His over/under is 4.5 for triples made, a number he's surpassed in 12 of 24 games this year.
Domantas Sabonis, Over 13.5 Rebounds
Domantas Sabonis scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds versus the Atlanta Hawks on a November 29th meeting that the Pacers won in overtime. Sabonis' 13.5 rebounds per game ranks him fourth in the league and doubles the leading rebounder for Atlanta, Jabari Parker, at 6.4 per game. Sabonis should crash the boards tonight, as their first meeting was the beginning of a back-to-back with the Hawks at home and the 76ers and Joel Embiid looming on the road the next day.
There may have been a case of overlooking the Hawks, but this time around, he won't have to worry with the Hornets on the schedule in two days. Expect Sabonis to get his 20th straight double-double and crack 14 rebounds for the fourth straight game.
Zach LaVine, Over 23.5 Points
Zach LaVine has played the Hornets twice this season, opening the season with 16 points on 7-for-17 shooting and then later his season-high of 49 points on 17-of-28 shooting, including a career-best and Bulls record 13-for-17 from deep. He nailed the game-winner in their last meeting, and tonight should be a battle between LaVine and Devonte' Graham. LaVine's over/under on made threes is worth taking a stab at (2.5), a number he's topped in six of nine games since playing in Charlotte.
LaVine has scored 24 or more in 6 of his last 10 games and is averaging 25.5 points in his last four home games. He's averaging more on the road (25.4) than home (20.4), but given this is his third time facing the Hornets, his over should hit between his familiarity with the opponent and the fact he's led Chicago in scoring for 10 of the past 11 games.
