5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/15/20

Jerami Grant has been the starting power forward for the Nuggets and has a great matchup tonight. Is he one of the best value players tonight?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Jerami Grant, PF, Denver Nuggets ($4,000)

Jerami Grant is the starting power forward for the Denver Nuggets and offers plenty of value tonight.

With Paul Millsap missing the last three games for Denver, we have seen Grant enter the starting lineup each game. Grant has been a bit up and down in these three games but is in a good spot against the Charlotte Hornets, one of the worst teams in the league versus big men. This season, the Hornets are allowing 46.7 FanDuel points per game to power forwards, the sixth-worst in the league.

Overall, Grant is in a truly good spot tonight, but the game environment doesn't jump off the page. This game has an over/under sitting at 210 tonight -- the lowest on the slate -- and both teams are bottom-three in offensive pace.

Enes Kanter, C, Boston Celtics ($5,500)

With Jayson Tatum out and Daniel Theis questionable, Enes Kanter is in for plenty of minutes tonight.

Theis was out in the Boston Celtics' most recent game, and we saw Kanter get the start, posting 26.8 FanDuel points in 26 minutes. That's super strong production from a player who has a 20.1% usage rate this season. Theis is normally the starting center for Boston, with Tatum at power forward. Kanter should be in line for the starting center role if Theis is out, but even if Theis does play, Kanter should still see plenty of minutes since they are thin when it comes to their frontcourt.

We have Kanter projected for 20 minutes tonight and posting 24.6 FanDuel points against the Detroit Pistons.

Kris Dunn, PG, Chicago Bulls ($4,900)

Kris Dunn doesn't always pour in the points, but he can fill up the stat sheet.

Dunn is taking between five and nine field goal attempts per game, only averaging seven real points. Those are very modest scoring numbers, but where we get value is his ability to add in every other category. Currently, Dunn is sitting at second overall in the league, averaging two steals per game. He also plays nearly 30 minutes per game, giving him the opportunity to rack up the peripheral stats on most nights.

Those peripheral stats should be flowing tonight since the Chicago Bulls are taking on the Washington Wizards in a game with a 230-point total. We also see the Bulls playing up in pace against Washington, giving us plenty of fantasy points.

But Dunn's production doesn't stop there! Over his last 10 games, he has finished with six or more combined assists and rebounds eight times. A few points here, a couple of steals, and plenty of rebounds or assists has him reaching value tonight.

Tyler Herro, SG, Miami Heat ($4,300)

A bench player who takes a ton of shots? That's always intriguing.

That player in Tyler Herro, who comes off the bench for the Miami Heat and regularly takes over 10 field goal attempts per game. Of those 10 shots from the floor, five to eight of them are three-point attempts. That volume of three-pointers is huge because it gives him a pure-scoring ceiling that could push him past value in a hurry.

Herro generally plays when Jimmy Butler isn't on the court, so he doesn't have to compete for offensive usage. This has Herro posting 0.84 FanDuel points per minute -- a viable number for a player only $4.3K.

The Heat are taking on the San Antonio Spurs, who are allowing 42.7 FanDuel points per game to shooting guards this season, the eighth-most in the league.

Shabazz Napier, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($4,100)

Shabazz Napier comes in as our top overall value play tonight, and let's take a look at why.

Napier has been the starting point guard in Minnesota for a good bit now, and we should see him there again tonight versus the Indiana Pacers. This game has a total sitting at a very solid 218 points and a spread of only three, putting us in a spot for a close and high-scoring game. With their current starting lineup, Napier is posting 0.90 FanDuel points per minute on an 18.6% usage rate.

Although this is a pace-down spot for the Timberwolves, the Pacers are allowing 44.9 FanDuel points per game to point guards -- 15th in the league. By no means is this a tough matchup for Napier, so expect him to reach value tonight.
