5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 2/25/20

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Gary Trent, SG, Portland Trail Blazers ($4,600)

The Portland Trail Blazers are still without Damian Lillard, and their starting point guard is now Gary Trent Jr..

Trent has gotten the start in each of the two games on this side of the All-Star break, and we should see him in that spot tonight. He has logged 36 and 34 minutes in these two games, producing 22 FanDuel points in each. At first glance, that doesn't seem to be amazing production, but we have to remember Trent is only $4.6K and doesn't need to be dropping 50 FanDuel points. In fact, he only needs 23 FanDuel points to reach 5x value tonight, which is right where we have him projected, going for 23.9 FanDuel points in 34 minutes.

The over/under is set at 227 points with the visiting Boston Celtics coming in as a 6.5-point road favorite. The Trail Blazers don't have a deep bench to begin with, so the minutes will there for Trent. It's just a matter of staying at this level of consistency in the starting lineup.

Harry Giles, PF, Sacramento Kings ($4,000)

We have a bench player now playing a larger role, but his price hasn't changed...eyeball emojis.

That player is Harry Giles for the Los Angeles Kings, who has played a solid 20 minutes or more in four of his last five games. We know that the Kings are dealing with a ton of injuries in their frontcourt -- Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley III, and Alex Len -- and they simply need Giles to play these minutes. In this recent stretch of playing, Giles has posted 20 FanDuel points or more in three of his last five games, recorded a double-double in his most recent one, and he's been in the starting lineup in each of the last two games.

There are a lot of moving parts to this situation, but what we do know is that this spot is worth attacking. The Kings are just 26th in pace, so this is a pace-up spot against the Golden State Warriors, who are 14th in the league. We also know that the Warriors have made the decision to not play defense this season -- I'm totally fine with this -- so we can attack them every night. They are allowing 44.9 FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, the 14th-most in the league.

Daniel Theis, PF, Boston Celtics ($5,000)

With Kemba Walker still out for the Boston Celtics, there is extra usage to go around.

It's always tough when a starter goes out, but it opens up the opportunity for the other players, and that means fantasy production. Daniel Theis is the starting center for the Celtics, and while he doesn't require the ball in his hands a whole lot, he is being very productive if he does get it. With their current starting lineup, Theis is producing 0.93 FanDuel points, the third-highest among the starters. For someone who is a 'role-player' in terms of real-life basketball, Theis is out here producing strong fantasy numbers on a nightly basis.

With a 227-point over/under, you can look to this game for plenty of scoring. The Celtics are playing up in pace, and the Trail Blazers are allowing 54.7 FanDuel points per game to centers, the fifth-most in the league.

Justin Holiday, SF, Indiana Pacers ($3,800)

The injury situation for the Indiana Pacers is anything but clear tonight.

Victor Oladipo is a game-time decision for tonight's game, and the Pacers announced yesterday that Jeremy Lamb is out for the season with an ACL injury. One player certainly out and one has a question mark tonight, giving the Pacers a potentially thinner bench. Justin Holiday already sees over 20 minutes per game off the bench, but that could be on the rise tonight due to these injuries.

If the minutes are going to be there for Holiday tonight, he is worth considering -- even though this game doesn't appear to be the best for fantasy production. It has an over/under sitting at 210 -- the lowest on the slate -- and features the Pacers and Charlotte Hornets, who are both in the bottom 10 for slowest-paced teams this season.

Is this 100% ideal? No. But for a player who is under $4K and has the chance to see over 30 minutes, you need him on your radar.

Eric Paschall, PF, Golden State Warriors ($4,500)

I don't care how bad the Warriors are this year, we just want fantasy points.

The injuries haven't slowed down for Golden State, who now have Draymond Green and Marquese Chriss listed as questionable for tonight's game. Both of those players missed their last game, and that provided a bit of an opening for Eric Paschall. In the two games since the All-Star break, Paschall has played 30 minutes or more in each game and posted 20 FanDuel points in each.

Albeit not amazing production, minutes equal money in NBA DFS, so we should look at him as a viable option tonight. We have him projected for 27 minutes and 22 FanDuel points tonight, bringing another salary saver at the power forward spot.
