5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/6/20

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Thomas Bryant, C, Washington Wizards ($4,200)

The Atlanta Hawks are taking on the Washington Wizards in what should be the best fantasy matchup of the entire slate.

First off, we have an over sitting at 245 points -- which is insanely high. Next, we see both teams in the top six when it comes to offensive pace this season. Finally, we have both teams in the top three for most FanDuel points allowed per game overall. This is legitimately all offense and no defense, giving us the ideal spot to attack. We know that Bradley Beal is ballin' right now for the Wizards, but what about other options from that offense?

We want to take a look at Thomas Bryant tonight, who is projected to be our fifth-best value among centers. Bryant sat out their most recent game, but that was due to the fact they were on the second night of a back-to-back and he is still making his way back from an injury. He should be full-go tonight, and it's a great spot for him, as the Hawks are allowing 56.4 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers -- the second-most in the league. He comes into this game producing at least 1.00 FanDuel points per minute in five of his last six games.

Jae Crowder, SF, Miami Heat ($4,300)

Do you like teams playing up in pace? Do you like teams facing a weak defense? Do you like value?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, oh boy, do I have an offer for you! Enter: Jae Crowder.

The Miami Heat are on the road to take on the New Orleans Pelicans, whose defense is equivalent to a wet paper bag. Seriously, they are in the bottom 10 for FanDuel points allowed per game to every position except center -- where they are 11th. They are terrible on defense, but it doesn't stop there. They are the second-fastest team in the league when it comes to pace -- making this spot even better. A team being bad on defense is one thing, but if they don't allow the other team to have a lot possessions, the opposing players can't pile up fantasy points. They simply don't see the ball enough. That's not the case here.

The Heat are 22nd in pace, putting them in a spot to see more than their usual amount of possessions per game. Crowder comes off the bench for Miami but has played at least 29 minutes in five straight games. He has posted 20 or more FanDuel points in four of those five games. Our projections have him going for 29 minutes and 25 FanDuel points tonight, exceeding salary-based value.

Delon Wright, SG, Dallas Mavericks ($4,500)

The Dallas Mavericks have a few injuries tonight, and that brings us some value.

Tim Hardaway Jr. has been ruled out for this game, while Dorian Finney-Smith, Luka Doncic, and Jose Juan Barea are all listed as questionable. There are a few moving parts when it comes to the Mavericks, and if any of these questionable players are ruled out, Delon Wright should see plenty of run. When Hardaway is off the court this season, Wright holds a modest 16.2% usage rate but is producing 0.94 FanDuel points per minute -- which is very solid.

Wright is known as a player who can fill up the stat sheet and reach value that way -- AKA: he isn't relying on pure points to get there. He has logged at least 24 minutes in three straight games, and given the Mavs' injury situation, he could push to 30 minutes in a big pace-up spot versus Memphis.

Shabazz Napier, PG, Washington Wizards ($4,800)

Another option in the Hawks at Wizards game? Yessir.

With Ish Smith out for the Wizards, Shabazz Napier is the starting point guard, and you have to love him in this spot and at this price point. This is a very straight-forward option tonight who should be pretty chalky given the game environment. Super-high 245-point over/under. Two teams in the top six for the fastest-paced teams. Two teams who don't play defense. What's not to like about this spot?

Our projections have Napier playing 28 minutes and going for 27 FanDuel points -- making him the seventh-best value option among point guards tonight. If you want to get cheaper exposure to this game, Bryant and Napier are both solid options.

T.J. McConnell, PG, Indiana Pacers ($3,800)

Now onto the player who is atop our value projections tonight.

That is none other than T.J. McConnell, who should be in as the starting point guard with Malcolm Brogdon listed as doubtful. Not only is Brogdon unlikely to play, but both Victor Oladipo and T.J. Warren are listed as questionable. The Indiana Pacers' rotation may be super thin tonight, and that could lead to plenty of minutes for McConnell. Speaking of minutes, our projections have the former Arizona Wildcat going for 33 minutes and posting 32.1 FanDuel points tonight -- making him the number-one value play on the entire slate.

Despite the fact this game against the Chicago Bulls has the lowest over/under on the slate (210.0), we can find some value options here simply out of necessity. Minutes equal money in NBA DFS, and we have a player under $4K who could be playing 30 minutes.
