DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Tuesday 8/11/20

With seven games to choose from on today's NBA slate, let's look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Here are some of the top plays on DraftKings. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook ($9,300) -- Westbrook rested the past two games for the Houston Rockets and let James Harden bear the load, and now it's Westbrook's turn. In two meetings with their interstate-rivals, the Spurs, and he's averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists over 44.5 minutes per game. He played 40 minutes in their last meeting and 48 in their double-overtime game during the first meeting.

Westbrook triple-doubled in the first meeting, and he recorded a double-double in the second versus the Spurs. Westbrook is one of the few players to average 50 or more fantasy points per game (51.2) and versus the Spurs, he's averaging 54 per game on a near triple-double with 27.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. He is the top player in DFS today, and it's hard to argue against that.

Ricky Rubio ($6,600) -- Rubio was one of the Suns that had the luxury of playing fewer minutes than most nights with their blowout win over the Thunder. Rubio played 21 minutes, and he'll have a fresh matchup with the 76ers' Shake Milton ($5,100). Rubio is undoubtedly going to have another all-around performance, and in his only meeting versus the Sixers all season, he recorded 21 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds for 47.3 fantasy points.

It's not out of the question that he could do that again versus a depleted and unmotivated Philly squad. He finished with nine assists, seven points, and five rebounds on Monday, and has yet to double-double in the bubble. numberFire's model predicts Rubio to total 13.7 points, 8.7 assists, and 4.9 rebounds versus the 76ers, and I predict Rubio to get his first 10-points and 10-assist game.

Shooting Guard

Dejounte Murray ($6,200) -- In light of Derrick White's injury for the Spurs, Murray steps in as the next man up in most departments behind veteran DeMar DeRozan. The Spurs remain in contention for the final playoff spot, and Murray has played a more significant role in the team's success than he did pre-hiatus. With LaMarcus Aldridge out, the Spurs turned to their younger talent, and Murray and White have been the driving forces.

Murray has averaged 13.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in his six seeding games for the Spurs. numberFire's model has Murray at 11.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists versus the Rockets. With their small-ball lineup and Westbrook at the helm, it could be a fast-paced up-and-down game, making Murray a must-play in DFS without White.

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum ($7,800) -- Tatum has officially taken over the Celtics. Tatum's been the closer of the bubble, and his ability to score and be a triple-threat has gone to the next level. He's shown that with his 24.6 points per game and two 29 or more point games. He shot over 50% in four-straight games until his last game, but he scored 29 points and added 9 rebounds and 6 assists to his stat line.

Tatum's shot has been hitting from everywhere as he's made multiple three-pointers in all five games and has scored at least 18 points too. He's catching his stride as the Celtics approach the postseason, and numberFire's model predicts 24.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists versus the Grizzlies. He had 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in the only meeting this season and could very well do that or better in the second.

Tobias Harris ($8,500) -- Harris takes over as the primary scorer for the 76ers with Embiid and Simmons' injuries. In his last game, he recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in 33 minutes as Richardson took over. Harris is averaging 22.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists during the 76ers' five bubble games, and his numbers are only going to rise if he's without both of Philadelphia's All-Stars.

Harris recorded 44.5 fantasy points in his only meeting with Phoenix this season and recorded a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. He's scored at least 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in five-straight games, and that streak will only continue as the top-dog for Philadelphia.

Power Forward

Brandon Clarke ($5,000) -- Clarke has come alive in his last two games for the Grizzlies. He's played 20 and 26 minutes in his last two games, averaging 14 points and 8.5 rebounds off the bench. He's been a spark plug, and a nice filler for Jaren Jackson Jr. and change of pace from Anthony Tolliver, as the Grizzlies barely hang onto the eight seed. numberFire's model projects 11.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 21 minutes, and if he plays more, he has another shot at that double-double he's been so close to earning.

Rodions Kurucs ($4,100) -- Taking another deep dive down the cheap DFS options, Kurucs is a guy that might see some extended minutes for the Brooklyn Nets. Kurucs has played 31 minutes in the last two games, and he's scored 15 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals combined in those games. While they aren't all that impressive, he's facing an Orlando Magic squad that's down multiple power forwards. He's hit at least one triple in his last four games, and if he's extending the floor and opening up rebounding for Jarrett Allen, he could be a sleeper in what will be a competitive game for the seventh and eighth seeds.

Center

Nikola Vucevic ($10,600) -- Vucevic will be another game without his running-mate in the frontcourt, Aaron Gordon. Vucevic recorded 26 points and 11 rebounds in his last game and 21 points and 12 rebounds in his first without Gordon. The Celtics run a small-ball lineup with Daniel Theis in the middle, and that will allow Vucevic to extend his range yet do damage in the paint area.

In three games versus the Nets this season, Vucevic is averaging 16.3 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game for 41.9 fantasy points. In the first game of the bubble, Vucevic recorded 37.75 fantasy points on 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. numberFire's model projects 21.3 points and 11.2 rebounds versus the Nets the second time around.

Deandre Ayton ($7,900) -- Ayton missed his COVID-19 test on Monday and missed the first quarter of the Suns versus Thunder game. Still, he posted substantial numbers in 17 minutes. He finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds, and in the bubble overall, he's been a great second option to Devin Booker, averaging 20.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

Ayton will have the luxury of having played limited minutes on Monday to playing an Embiid-less 76ers team on Tuesday; it doesn't get any better than that for Ayton. numberFire's model projects 18.5 points and 11.8 rebounds versus the 76ers, and he's destined for a double-double with a little bit of extra rest.
