3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 4/15/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Brandon Goodwin, PG, Atlanta Hawks ($3,700)

If Trae Young is out again for the Atlanta Hawks, you look to Brandon Goodwin for value.

A situation such as this is super simple in NBA DFS. When player A is out, you roster player B. Trae Young is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks and has missed each of their last two games. In those two games, Goodwin has gotten the start each time en route to 33.0 and 30.5 FanDuel points. That is awesome production from a player under $4,000 and is what we should be expecting from Goodwin tonight if he is in the starting lineup.

Even though Goodwin has produced under one FanDuel point per minute in each of the last two games, he is still exceeding his salary-based expectations. With a 229.0-point over/under and a close 4.5-point spread, we should be seeing much of the same from Goodwin: playing 35 minutes or more while producing under one FanDuel point minute but exceeding value along the way.

Kent Bazemore, SF, Golden State Warriors ($5,000)

Kent Bazemore will continue to be a viable value option if he remains in the starting lineup.

The Golden State Warriors have been without Kelly Oubre for the past three games, and that has pushed Bazemore into the starting lineup. With Oubre listed as doubtful for tonight's game, we can fully anticipate Bazemore seeing the starting lineup again and be ready to produce fantasy points. Over his last three games, Bazemore has played over 32 minutes twice while producing over 25 FanDuel points twice. He is another player we often see play a high volume of minutes but produce under one FanDuel point per minute, which is fine.

It'd be great to have him exceed one FanDuel point per minute, but we mainly want him to simply exceed his salary-based value, and he's been doing that for the most part. Reaching that level is fully on the table tonight because Bazemore is set to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are allowing the 10th most (42.58) FanDuel points per game to opposing small forwards. Take the modest salary, take the minutes, and take the production.

Hassan Whiteside, C, Sacramento Kings ($5,000)

Hassan Whiteside put up a monster stat line last night, and you should look to capture that potential upside again tonight.

The Sacramento Kings were without Marvin Bagley III and Richaun Holmes last night, which led to Damian Jones as the starting center with Whiteside coming off the bench. Jones didn't do that much with 14.8 FanDuel points in 16 minutes. Whiteside, on the other hand, was very productive with 40.8 FanDuel points in only 22 minutes. Since the Kings are on the second night of a back-to-back, there is a question mark on whether or not Holmes will be back in the lineup.

While the matchup is tough against the Phoenix Suns tonight -- allowing the ninth-fewest (51.30) FanDuel points per game to centers -- Whiteside could be in a spot for another 20 minutes or more, which would give him the opportunity to post plenty of fantasy points. This game does have a slate-high 231.5-point over/under, giving us a solid fantasy envoirnemnt to attack.
