5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 12/19/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Kenrich Williams, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder
Eugene Omoruyi, Oklahoma City Thunder

Williams FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Omoruyi FanDuel Salary: $4,200

We could probably list out six or seven plays from the Oklahoma City Thunder alone, but I won't go that hard here.

Oklahoma City is going to be without Josh Giddey, Darius Bazley, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is also questionable now as a mid-day upgrade.

But Kenrich Williams and Eugene Omoruyi are in line for big roles tonight.

Williams is projected for 32.0 minutes and 29.1 FanDuel points, good for 7.46 FanDuel points per $1,000 in salary. That's the best value projection of any player on the board tonight, via numberFire's model.

Eugene Omoruyi ($3,700) actually has the second-best projection (6.67 per $1,000). With Giddey, Bazley, and Robinson-Earl off the floor, Omoruyi has a 23.6% usage rate with a per-minute average of 1.10 FanDuel points across 93.0 minutes.

Isaiah Joe has a 20.2% usage rate with a per-minute output of 1.04 FanDuel points in that split, as well.

Basically, any Thunder player is viable tonight, and Williams and Omoruyi are rating out as the two best values.

Onyeka Okongwu, C, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Salary: $5,200

Onyeka Okongwu remains relevant at a low FanDuel salary with Clint Capela out. John Collins is questionable. As long as Capela is out, though, Okongwu should start.

In his four starts, Okongwu has averaged 29.4 minutes and 24.0 FanDuel points for a per-minute output of 0.82 fantasy points. Overall this season, Okongwu is a 0.96-FanDuel-point-per-minute producer, so that rate as a starter should climb as the sample grows.

Okongwu is projected for 31.5 minutes and 30.7 FanDuel points tonight against the Orlando Magic, good for 5.90 FanDuel points per $1,000.

Harrison Barnes, SF/PF, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Salary: $5,600

Again, we can really get away with loading up on the Thunder for value, but if we need or want to go some other ways, we have some spots.

The Sacramento Kings play in a game with an absurd total of 240.5 points as 10.0-point favorites. That gives them an implied team total of 125.25 points, nearly 5.0 points better than any other team.

Harrison Barnes should be able to take advantage of a team that is 28th in defensive rating.

Against teams in the bottom 10 in defensive rating this season, Barnes has averaged 31.2 FanDuel points per game and 0.91 per minute.

Against all other opponents, Barnes has averaged just 0.75 per minute and 22.9 per game.

Malachi Flynn, PG/SG, Toronto Raptors

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

We have some non-Thunder value via the Toronto Raptors by way of Malachi Flynn.

The Raps have a pretty sizable injury list that notably includes Gary Trent Jr. and OG Anunoby as questionable.

Without them on the floor, Flynn's usage rate bumps up 3.1 percentage points to a very respectable 23.9%, and he puts forth 0.90 FanDuel points per minute in that split.

It's a tough matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers with a slate-low 219.5-point total, but if you're hoping to get away from the Thunder, consider going to Flynn.
